Types of car wash: Advantages and disadvantages

Posted on September 21, 2022November 21, 2022 by hashim pes

There are different methods of car washing and here you will be able to know the pros and cons of each of them.

Car washing is something that brings benefits to our vehicle, as it not only makes it look clean, but also keeps the paint in good condition for longer. Of course, there are different types of car washes , but like all of them, they have their advantages and disadvantages. That is why at Proautoenthusiast.com we want you to know everything about them and thus choose the best type of car wash for your vehicle.

1. Traditional car wash

The traditional car wash , as its name says, is the most common and perhaps the best option when it comes to washing a vehicle, since you can do it yourself, or take it to a car wash for someone else to do it. for us. Among its advantages we have the power to clean specific areas and remove all the dirt found in our vehicle.

On the other hand, the disadvantages of this wash is the effort that one makes, not to mention the time it takes if we are one of those who do not finish until the wash looks uniform and almost perfect. Another disadvantage is the use of resources, because the greater the mass, the greater the amount of water that we require to wash the vehicle.

2. Car wash tunnel

It is difficult to find this type of car wash in Mexico, at least in the central countries, but it is one of the simplest, since it is enough to just enter the car in the car wash tunnel without even getting out of the vehicle. That is when the rollers will start to do their job of soaping and washing the car quickly and easily.

Unfortunately, the rollers do not measure their strength as one would, to that we must add that the bristles are in good condition, otherwise they could scratch the paint of our car, not to mention that it will not clean with the same depth as one, for what some dirt residue might be left behind after leaving the car wash . Another point against it is that it is not as cheap as taking your vehicle to the car wash, as there is some maintenance to be done on the rollers and their machinery.

3. Pressure washing

This is another very common type of washing and consists of using a pressurized water gun for washing. This tool saves water and can even be used to cover the vehicle with a layer of shampoo or foam that will absorb dirt from our vehicle, as long as the specific nozzle is available.

Usually, the pressure washing method is used in car washes, as it is fast, efficient and economical, in fact, it takes around 15 or 20 minutes to have the car completely clean, at least on the outside. The bad thing about this type of washing is that, although you do not need to be an expert, you have to know how and at what angle to shoot the water at the car so as not to damage the paint, not to mention that the dirt that has been for a long time may not disappear. and you have to use hand wash.

4. Dry cleaning

Dry cleaning or ecological washing, as it is also known, is a type of washing that has been gaining ground, because as its name says, it does not require water or any other resource other than the content of the bottle where it is packed. , which is an advantage when it comes to being friendly to the environment.

On the other hand, the big downside to dry cleaning is that it’s not as cheap as grabbing your bucket of soap and water and washing the car, not to mention the fact that it won’t do as many washes if it’s a vehicle like an SUV or of large dimensions despite the fact that it only requires a spray on the area to be washed to remove the dirt, as long as it is superficial and not very adhered to the paint.

To these disadvantages, we must increase the physical effort that it will take to wash a car completely, piece by piece, since we cannot cover a very large area with the spray of the bottle, but the result will be just as good as a traditional wash.

Now you know the most popular types of car washes there are. Whichever type you decide to use, remember to be careful with your car’s paint and keep it clean whenever possible to keep it shiny and looking like new for longer, not to mention showing off your car like it’s brand new.
